Educators will receive an orientation to the Algebra 1 course available on Blackboard along with an overview of the course content.
The content is linked to the Michigan Mathematics Merit Curriculum. Learn how this can be used in a variety of formats and customized to your specific needs.
Your use may include: • Complete Algebra 1 course online • Algebra 1 blended course • Remediation or credit recovery • Content for absent students • Support different learning styles • Meet the MMC Online experience
The workshop will start with 3 hours of face-to-face instruction followed by two weeks of online work (approximately 6 hours of work per week.)
This workshop may be followed by an optional Blackboard Basics workshop for those interested in learning more about teaching with Blackboard and/or customizing the Algebra I course or course content.
Teachers using the Algebra I content will be provided with free online courses in Blackboard and teacher and student logins.
Districts are responsible for sub costs. Participants are required to participate in two weeks of online readings, discussions and projects immediately following the face-to-face training.
